The last two weekends have been fruitful in “firing me up”.
Through Portland Pottery where my work is fired, workshops abound throughout the year. A couple of Saturdays ago, Marian Baker did a workshop on “pots with lids” that was amazing. 1-5pm did not seem like enough time but it was solid and well rounded with Marian covering a lot of material, while telling us the hows, whys and giving tips while throwing both pots and lids. Tons of questions, queries and “how do I”‘s thrown at Marian from the many of us at the workshop. Lots of great information. Kudos to both Marian Baker and Portland Pottery.
Last Saturday when the “wetha” was coming in, we were having the last Raku workshop at Portland Pottery for the year. Nice group of pottery peeps with a new glaze, Lemon Luster, to try. Who could ask for more? There were several of us who were intent on doing some feathers and horsehair raku. Nice to have a group of us and it was so much fun. See some of the results.
Keep putting yourself out there and find opportunities to participate and learn every chance you get!
